Instream habitat improvement and riparian works on the Cummirk in the Finn Catchment are underway. The Riparian Works include the creation of a 1.8km riparian buffer strip with a width of 5m from the water’s edge, and the installation of pasture pumps/offline drinking solutions, stiles & unigates. The 5m buffer will then be planted with approximately 2,450 trees. The instream works will aim to use largely “green” or “soft” engineering measures as bank stabilisation.
