Drilling of two Groundwater Monitoring Stations started in the Derg catchment recently, with the first site now completed. Two boreholes were achieved capturing water entering at the rock interface and at a depth of 30m in bedrock.
As on the first occasion, broken rock full of silt was encountered, matching very well with the geophysics, but a reasonable yield was achieved from the deeper hole. Drilling has now moved on to the next site lower down the catchment. More to follow…
